    Laser Hair Removal


    Since 1997 hair removal lasers have been used after being approved for permanent hair removal by the Food Drug and Administration. It has become rapidly grown popular due to the speed and efficacy.There are two main type of methods used in laser hair removal; Epilation by laser which was practiced for approximately 20 years experimentally before it was commercially available to the public in the 1990s. Also there is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) epilators, this method does not technically use a laser instead it uses xenon flash lamps that emit a full spectrum of light. Laser and light-based methods of hair removal are sometimes referred to as photrotrichyosis or as photoepilation, but now days those types of methods are usually referred to as laser hair removal. It is now widely practiced seeing as it is accepted in the dermatology community.

    How does it work?
    The process of removing the unwanted hair is merely about targeting the hair follicle and then directing the laser beam at the hair follicle¡¯s root. The hair removal process starts when the laser beam locates the hair follicle that it is targeting by first finding the melanin, which is the dark color of the hair. The number of sessions of laser hair removal is dependant on several things; the area of which you had it performed, your skin color, coarsens of your hair, and your gender. Seeing as there are three faces of skin growth and laser treatments can only have an affect on the unwanted hair that is currently growing, so there will need to be several sessions to effectively kill hair in all phases of skin growth. It is necessary to expect anywhere between at least three to eight sessions to achieve the most out of your laser hair removal experience. The easiest to treat are coarse hair and light skin, and finer hair and darker skin will require more sessions because they are harder to treat.
     


    It is also important to realize that laser hair removal doesn¡¯t work on just everyone; it doesn¡¯t work on light hair or very fine hair, and the laser hair removal price is a costly one. In addition you should wait anywhere between three to twelve weeks between sessions, but the over all spacing depends on the individual and the results they have achieved per session. The spacing of sessions depends also on the area treated, hair cycles, and the body part. Also there are potential health risks that laser hair removal can purpose so, you should only have this process done by a trained accredited professional.
